Twila Jane Gillman

September 28, 1960 — June 27, 2016

Twila Jane Gillman 55, of Barnabus, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday, July 27, 2016 in Logan Regional Medical Center following a sudden illness.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, going to church and being the neighborhood Mother.  She always opened her home to anyone who needed a kind word, food or a place to stay.    She was born October 28, 1960 in Pritchard, West Virginia to the late Orvis Koon and Francine (Simmons) Koon Browning.   In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her paternal grandparents; Jessie and Elsie Koon and the Maternal grandparents; Harry and Sadis Simmons, two brothers; Davis Eugene Koon and Timothy Arnold Koon, one sister; Sherry Lynn Chafin and her dearest friends; Smokey and Haley Thern.  Those left to cherish her memories are her husband of 36 years Reather Gillman, her children; Misty (Bobby) Brewster at home, Haley Fran Nicole Gillman of Charleston, Wynona Renea “Nae Nae’ Gillman at home and  a very special nephew who was like a son; Billy Varney, Grandson; Jediah Jones, Brother; Raymond (Phoeba) Koon of Barnabus, sisters; Naomi (David) Wren of Jacksonville, FL, Sheila (Tom) Craddock of Lake and Tammy (Benny) Hunt of Barnabus, and grandmother; Kathleen Simmons of Charleston and a host of special nephews, nieces and friends, two very special ladies whom were like sisters; Lura Cremeans of Huntington and Teresa Queen of Logan, Special friends whom were like family; Teddy and Sissy McClease, Angela Darren, and Levi Robertson, Miranda Jones, Dontez Bryant and Taija Powell Jr.  Services will be 1:00 PM Sunday, July 31, 2016 at the Switzer Church of God with Rev. Harold McMillen officiating and Debbie Callaway and Kayla Rice singing.  Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 6 to 9 PM Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Collins Funeral Home Chapel in Switzer.  Pallbearers will be family and friends.  Collins Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.  Condolences may be left @ www.collinsfuneralhomewv.com.
