Rueben Lewis Gillman, 82 of Columbus, OH went to be with the Lord on July 20th, 2023. He was born on March 15th, 1941, at Chauncey, WV to Lewis and Edith Marie Robinette Gillman.
He grew up in Switzer, WV and was a stand-out football player at both Omar Junior High and Logan High School. He was also a graduate of Logan High School and a proud United States Navy Veteran. He retired from Columbus Coated Fabrics. Rueben was an avid golfer and fisherman. He loved working in his yard with his flowers and his garden. He was of the Old Regular Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Mary Ann Gillman Curtiss, and Pamela Gillman Bias, and by his beloved daughter Renee' Ladean Gillman. He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-seven years, Lenore Sue Alderman Gillman; his sister Joan Gillman Ball; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 29th, 2023, at 12:00 noon at Collins Funeral Home. A service will begin at 12:40 pm and a procession to the cemetery will follow at 1:00 pm, where a graveside service and military honors will commence upon arrival and Pastor Pat Hutchinson officiating the service. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens in Chapmanville, WV.
