Ruby (Evans) Cook
Ruby (Evans) Cook, 94 of Monaville, WV passed peacefully on Thursday, May 25th, 2023, at her residence with her loving family by her side. She was born on July 25th, 1928 in Harts, WV and was the daughter of the late William and Cora (Ellis) Evans. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two husbands, Jinks Adkins and Carl Cook; four children, Juanita Lambert, William Adkins, Ruth Ann Richards, and Jinks Adkins, Jr.; five brothers, Everette Evans, Earnest Evans, Hubert Evans, Ray Evans, and Roy Evans; two sisters, Ruth Walsh and Margaret White; and two grandchildren, Jinks Adkins and Jason Richards.
She was a homemaker and of the Pentecostal faith. She adored her dogs and cats. The family would like to give a special thanks to Luther and Debbie Shell; her life long neighbor.
Those left to cherish her loving memory includes her son, Donald (Jackie) Adkins; two daughters, Geneva (Silvertre) Luz, and Debra (Paul) Vinson; twenty-two grandchildren, Stevie Lambert, Denise Lambert, David Lambert, Shawn Lambert, Linda Dingess, Barbara Killen, William Adkins Jr., Dawna Callaway, Donald Adkins II, Connie Lester, Kelly Richards, James Richards, Melissa Gedeon, Drema Hodges, Autumn Perrin, Hannah Vinson, Paul J Vinson, Evelyn Perrin, Harper Perrin, Adonis Perrin, Reagan Adkins, and Allison Callaway; twenty great grandchildren who will all love and miss her.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm, Tuesday, May 30th, 2023, at Collins Funeral Home Chapel.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, May 31st, 2023, also at the funeral home chapel with Brother Damon Murphy officiating the service. Burial will follow in Adkins-Frye Cemetery in Harts, WV. Pallbearers will include family and friends.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Collins Funeral Home Inc. of Switzer, WV.
