Oral Gene Castle, 89 of Logan, WV went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Wednesday, July 21st, 2021, at Logan Regional Medical Center. He was born on March 23rd, 1932 in Betsy Lane, KY to the late Alvin Charles and Gladys (Halvey) Castle.
He served in the Army in Korea. He was a coal miner for forty-three years. Also, he was a member of Chauncey Freewill Baptist Church. He loved to sing Hymnals and will be remembered as a great storyteller by all who knew him. His favorite things included gardening, fishing and hunting, a trait he has passed on to his children and many others who will always remember “Pawpaw”.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Patricia Lynn Castle and Tenna Nadine Browning; three brothers, J.B Castle, Danny Castle, and Ari Castle; and two sisters, Judy Slade and Catherine Lyons.
Those left to cherish his loving memory includes his wife of sixty-six years, Nadine (Curry) Castle; one son, Gene Castle of Switzer, WV; one daughter, Deidre Dent of Scott Depot, WV; two brothers, Ronnie Castle of Brockport, NY and Gary Castle of Flatrock, NC; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
In honoring Oral Gene’s wishes, he will be cremated.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, July 24th, 2021 at Collins Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Charlie Blankenship officiating. Following the service, military rites will be held.
