Listen to Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Norma Deaner, who peacefully departed this life on June 23, 2026, at the age of 73.

Norma was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She dedicated her life to caring for others and was known for her kindness, generosity, and love for her family. She had a gentle spirit and a giving heart, always willing to help others and make others feel welcome.

A woman of deep faith, Norma loved the Lord and found strength, comfort, and purpose in her relationship with Him throughout her life. Her faith guided the way she lived, the way she treated others, and the example she set for those around her.

Nothing brought her more joy than her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved them with all her heart and took great pride in each of them. To her grandchildren, she was more than a grandmother. She was a source of unconditional love, encouragement, comfort, and wisdom. The memories she created with them and the love she poured into their lives will remain with them forever.

She found joy in spending time with her family, sharing stories, and creating lasting memories.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jerry, as well as her sister, Joyce, her brothers Billy, Bobby, and Junior, and her parents, Roosevelt and Roxie Lawson.

She is survived by her daughters Stephanie Deaner and Preslee (Brian) Looney, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren Kendra (Kai-man) Hayden, Liam Burns, Gabriel, Cheyenna, and Maverick Looney, one brother, James Lawson, and many other family members and friends who will cherish her memory forever.

Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that she is at peace, resting in the presence of the Lord she loved so dearly and reunited with loved ones who have gone before her. Her legacy of faith, love, compassion, and devotion to family will never be forgotten. The family would like to extend a special thanks to all of the staff at Genesis Nursing Facility in Logan for their care and compassion during her final days. She was shown the utmost care and love from everyone there, for which the family is forever grateful.
