Mary Alice "Hampton" Hensley

February 26, 1932 — April 19, 2015


Mary Alice (Tomblin) Hampton Hensley 83, of Switzer, formerly of Sharples passed away Sunday April 19, 2015, at Logan Regional Medical Center.  She was a member of the Switzer Freewill Baptist Church and a retired Head Start Teacher for PRIDE.  She was the monarch of the family.  She is survived by her husband James Hensley at home, one brother; Stewart Gregory Tomblin of Logan four sons; Chuck Hampton of Florida, Jack Hampton of Dunbar, Robbie Hensley of Charleston and Keith Hensley of Switzer, three daughters; Regina Curry of Ottawa, Connie Waddle of Tennessee and Belinda Hampton of Charleston, 31 grandchildren, and many great and great-great grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her 1St. Husband Joe Hampton, parents; Sammie and Winnie Tomblin, three sisters, four brothers, two sons; Joe Edward and Michael Hampton and two daughters; Darith Hampton and Vivian Pack. Services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at the Switzer Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor Tennis Vance officiating.  Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.  Visitation will be two hours prior to service at the church.  Pallbearers will be family and friends.  Collins Funeral Home of Switzer is in charge of the arrangements.
