Madeline Baisden

Madeline Baisden, 87 of Switzer, WV departed this life Wednesday, July 17th, 2019 at Dignity Hospice House in Chapmanville, WV. She was born on June 5th, 1932 in Blackey, VA. She was the daughter to the late Samuel and Kansa (Stacy) Thompson.

In addition to her parents, Madeline was preceded in death by her husband, Thurmand Baisden; father of her three sons, Lawrence Blankenship; three sons, Jack, Charlie, and Gary Blankenship; one step daughter whom she thought of as her own, Orethia Baisden; three brothers, three sisters, and one granddaughter.

Those left to cherish her loving memory includes three step-daughters whom she thought of as her own, Juanit Rice, Nedra May, and Brenda Ferguson; one special niece, Kathleen (Earnest “Tub”) Butcher; two special great nieces, Nancy Kirk and Tammy Kirk; one nephew, Jimmy Thompson; five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and seven great-great grandchildren; and many other family members who will all love and miss her tremendously.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, July 21st, 2019 at Collins Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Richard Belcher officiating. Burial will follow in Thompson Lawson Family Cemetery in Delbarton, WV. A visitation will be held from 6:00-9:00 PM Saturday, July 20th, 2019 also at the funeral home chapel. Collins Funeral Home Inc. is assisting Baisden family with arrangements.
