Lyle Gene Bradford

April 6, 1955 — January 3, 2022

Lyle Gene Bradford, 66, of Wharncliffe, WV went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at his residence surrounded by family and friends January 3rd, 2022. He was born on April 6th, 1955, in Welch, WV to Arnold “Gene” and Violet (Hatfield) Bradford. He was preceded in death by his wife of twenty-nine years and mother of his children, Donna Kay Bradford; sister, Freda Gibson; three brothers, Dexter, Artie, and Quinn Bradford; and his father, Arnold “Gene” Bradford. He attended Browning Fork House of Faith.

He was a coal miner for thirty years then retired. His positive attitude and smile were contagious. It wasn’t possible to be in his company and have a bad day. Despite his incredibly excellent musical talent on just about any instrument, he never sought fame or fortune. He would always say that his talent was meant for the Lord. He was a humble WV Coal Miner and musician with extraordinary talent and a love for family, friends, and God.

Those left to cherish his loving memory includes his wife of twelve years, Sherry (Jeffrey) Bradford of Wharncliffe, WV; his mother, Violet Bradford; one son, Heath (Valerie) Bradford of Gilbert, WV; two daughters, Tina (Kevin) Dockstader of Lerona, WV and Michelle (Jason) Dooney of North Carolina; three brothers, Winfred (Sissy) Bradford of Baisden, WV, Alford (Tammy) Bradford of Grafton, WV, and Doyle (Toni) Bradford of Bluefield, WV; grandchildren, Donavan Bailey of Baisden, WV, Jeanna Bradford of Gilbert, WV, Emma and Bruce Dooney of North Carolina, and Megan and Tyler Dockstader; special friends, Rebel Blankenship, Lionel Browning, and Corky Rasnick; special cousins, Buck Hatfield and Irvin Gibson; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

A memorial service will be held 7:00 pm Friday, January 7th, 2022, at Freedom Full Gospel Assembly House of Prayer with Rev.
