Lydia Jean Elliott

Lydia Jean Elliott, born Dec. 5, 1955 at Wilson N.C.; received her reward in Christ

Wed. July 25th, after a long and brave struggle with cancer.   She was preceded in death by her father and mother; Wilbur and Lois Hawley and her brother Gary of Wilson, N.C.; her brother in-law Tracy and sister in-law Frances Browning of Cow Creek, WV.

She is survived by her loving husband of 33 yrs., Jonas, two wonderful daughters; Amanda (Mitchell) Stallard of Mitchell Hts.  WV.  Hannah (Arnan) Sisson of Montross, VA; and two precious grandchildren; Ashira and Braysen; her brothers Jeff Hawley of Tarboro N.C., Scott Hawley of Wichita, KS; her niece that she loved as a sister, Cindy (Joseph) Kiser of Rocky Mount, VA; two brother and sister in-laws Scott and Carol McGraw of Pecks Mill, WV and Robert and Phyllis Elliott of Davin, WV and a host of nieces and nephrews. 

Lydia taught at Beth Haven Christian School for 27 years, where she touched the hearts and minds of so many.   She truly loved all the teachers, staff and children.

Lydia attended the Cornerstone Family Fellowship Church at Whitman where the church members became as family.

Visitation will be at the Collins Funeral Home at Switzer, WV on Sat. July 28th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Funeral Services will be Sun. July 29th at 2:00 pm at the Cornerstone Family Fellowship Church at Whitman, WV with the Rev. Richard Belcher and at her request, her husband Rev. Jonas Elliott officiating.

Burial will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill
