Johnny David Johnson 68, of Omar departed this life on Sunday, January 29, 2017 at his residence. He was born September 2, 1948 in Slagle, WV to the late Clyde and Ecie (Carroll) Johnson Sr. He was a disabled coal miner and he attended God’s Light House Church at Cow Creek. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two brothers, Clyde Johnson Jr. and Eugene Johnson; six sisters, Elsie Johnson, Goldie Miller, Athlene May, Hazel Sallards, Wanda Workman, and Ernestine Kirk. Those left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Carmel Johnson; one son, Johnny David Johnson Jr.; two daughters, Angela Duncan and Kellie (Allie) Smaldi; one brother, Douglas Johnson; one sister, Sharon Dunn; four grandchildren, Tres Duncan, Trent Duncan, Aylah Duncan, and Gabrielle Buruato; one great grandchild, Grayson Dean. Services will be held at 1:00PM Thursday, February 2, 2017 at Collins Funeral Home Chapel with Randy Robinette, Cab Wolford, and Anthony Moss officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM-9:00 PM Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at Collins Funeral Home Chapel. Pallbearers will be Tres Duncan, Trent Duncan, Allie Smaldi, Johnny Johnson Jr., Bobby Queen, and John “Gregory” Albright. Collins Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
