Johnathan Trent Duncan

Johnathan Trent Duncan, 20 of Logan, WV departed this life Tuesday, November 26th, 2019. He was born on July 9th, 1999 at Cabell Huntington Hospital and was the son of the late Brian Duncan and Angela Duncan Reese. Jonathan was a student at Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College and Marshall University. He was preceded in death by his father, Brian Duncan; grandfather, Johnny Johnson Sr.; and grandmother, Carmel Johnson. If you knew Trent, you knew that he was always making jokes and telling hilarious stories. He would walk in a room full of people and crack a big joke right off, you would know he had arrived. He didn’t allow people to be sad around him, he would do something to get you in a good mood whether that was dancing, making funny faces to get you to laugh. He loved his FAMILY and FRIENDS more than anything. When Trent loved you, he loved you BIG! He was one of a kind and will never cross our thoughts that we don’t laugh and think of something silly he did, but will yearn for his presence until we meet him again.

Those left to cherish his loving memory includes his mother, Angela (Patrick) Reese; God-parents, Carl and Bonita Wolford of Gilbert, WV; his siblings, Tres (Danielle) Duncan of Logan, WV, step-brother, Ashton Cline of Gilbert, WV; his most favorite human ever, Aylah Duncan of Teays Valley, WV; and step-sister, Madison Reese of Teays Valley, WV; paternal grandparents, Lynda Duncan of Salt Rock, WV and Cliff (Cathy) Duncan of Crawley Creek, WV; paternal aunt and uncle, Ricky (Libby) Duncan of Salt Rock, WV; maternal aunts and uncles, Johnny Johnson Jr. of Logan, WV, Kellie (Allie) Smaidi of Charleston, WV, cousins, Michael Duncan of Cincinnati, OH, Melydna (Keith) Stoffa of Myrtle Beach, SC, Gabriel Buruato of Statesville, NC; two very special nephews, Greyson and Jaxson Duncan of Logan, WV; a best friend, Tyler Flemming of Charles Town, WV; and not just his best friend but also his girlfriend, Josi Meadows of Chapmanville, WV.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday December 4th, 2019 at Collins Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Carl Wolford officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. He will be carried to his final resting place by Ashton Cline, Samson Woodruff, Kevin Damron, Tyler Flemming, and Kyle Flemming.

A visitation will be held from 6:00-9:00 pm Tuesday December 3rd, 2019 also at the funeral home.

Condolences may be left at our website, www.collinsfuneralhomewv.com./.

Trent was a beautiful person inside and out. Someone that you could always count on whether it be for a joke, but in times when you needed someone to just listen. I thank God Tyler brought you in my life. I remember those nights during Freshman year you always made sure I got home after a crazy night of clubbing, or sat at the dining hall with me and just talked about our aspirations in life, etc. I will forever cherish those moments, and I pray you rest in peace. I send my condolences to your family and loved ones, and all of the Herd Family that was blessed enough to have met someone like you. RIP

Trent was unlike anyone you couldve ever met. We had many classes together throughout high school. He always knew how to give you the biggest laugh when you needed it the most. Knowing Trent was at school always made going to those less favorable classes a little less dreadful. Ive never met someone that truly made such an impact on everyone he met even if it was in the slightest way. My love and prayers go out to his family, friends, girlfriend & the rest of Class of 2017. There will forever be a piece of us missing but you live on in our memories for the rest of our lives. Thank you for just being you, Trent. You are dearly missed. Rest easy..

I'm so sorry. I got to meet Johnathan during his moms wedding, and yes the comments are so true. By the end of the wedding I felt like I'd known him all his life. Funny and very respectful. He seemed to be a great kid. God bless the whole family.

Trent always made my day better at work. Everyday he came into work he would look at me and say Hey friend with the biggest smile on his face. He would always ask me the most random, funny questions and he made me laugh every time he broke out his dance moves. He is one of a kind, I will always remember the sweet impact he left on my life.
