Obituary

Glaston Danny DeHart, 79, of Ethel, departed this life to meet his Heavenly Father on July 2, 2026.

He was born in Logan on December 23, 1946, to the late Glaston and Delania (Neace) DeHart. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard DeHart and David DeHart, and his beloved grandson, Aaron Thompson.

Danny was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend whose greatest joy was his family. He was a faithful man of God and a member of New Life Freewill Baptist Church.

Danny proudly served his country in the United States Army. He loved sharing stories of his time in the service and could vividly recall the beautiful places he visited and the experiences he had. His remarkable memory allowed him to remember even the smallest details of the many vacations he enjoyed with his family. He especially loved taking them to Disney World, the beach, Tennessee, and countless other destinations. Whenever he began to laugh while reminiscing about those treasured moments, you knew there was a story to follow—one that would leave everyone smiling.

Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife, Brenda (Napier) DeHart of Ethel; his daughters, Kathy Burress of Ethel, and Delania Thompson and husband Ronnie of Chapmanville; his granddaughter, Meranda Corns and husband Trevor of Chapmanville; his four cherished great-grandchildren, Elliana, Elias, Hunter, and Maxie; his brother, Michael DeHart of Omar; his sister, Connie and husband Roger Ball of Big Creek; his sister-in-law, Florence DeHart of Cow Creek; and many nieces, nephews, church family members, and dear friends.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Monday, July 6, 2026, at Collins Funeral Home. In accordance with Danny’s wishes, cremation will take place privately following the visitation.

Though he will be deeply missed, Danny leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, laughter, and treasured memories that will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Collins Funeral Home, Inc. of Switzer, WV.
