Geraldine Murphy Gunnells, age 80 of Hanover, passed away Tuesday, June 1st, 2021.
Born April 16, 1941 at Glen Alum, Geraldine was the daughter of the late Edward and Clista (Stevens) Murphy.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Okie Gunnells; daughter, Michelle (Gunnells) Lowe; sister, Joyce (Murphy) Peak; brothers-in-law Larry Levine and Larry Riffe; and sister-in-law Marilyn Murphy.
Geraldine worked as a school bus driver and cook for Mingo County Schools for 32 years.
Those left to cherish her memory include her two sons, Mark (Teresa) Gunnells and Steve (Joan) Gunnells, both of Hanover; her granddaughters Ashley Farmer (Dana Draughn) of North Carolina and Markie (Jonathan) Nagy of Pennsylvania; her grandsons Garrett (Kayla) Gunnells of Hanover, Tyler Gunnells (Coleman Jarrett) of Morgantown, and Kirkland Gunnells (Kaylee Argabright) of Clear Fork; her great-grandchildren Clista Farmer, Allie Gunnells, and Brynlee Gunnells; her sisters Venida (Richard) Brown, Emma Riffe, and Janice Levine; her brothers Edward Murphy, Phillip (Sharon) Murphy, and Randy (Kathy) Murphy; sister-in-law Linda Gunnells; her nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.
The family will gather at Collins Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, June 5th, 2021 from 12:00-1:00 pm. Friends may gather with the family from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. Pastor Bill Cresong will officiate a brief service during that time.
Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens in Chapmanville, WV.
Geraldine will be carried to her final resting place by Garrett Gunnells, Tyler Gunnells, Kirkland Gunnells, Jonathan Nagy, and Joey Lester.
