Geraldine Adkins

Geraldine Adkins, 79 of Omar, WV (formerly of Chauncey, WV) departed this life on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at Logan Regional Medical Center in Logan, WV. She was born on January 22, 1947, in Chauncey, WV and was the daughter of the late William “Press” Vance and Ferba “Ferbie” (Kirk) Vance.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Adkins; brothers, Dave, Larry, and Phillip Vance; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and other family.

She was employed at Walmart as a stocker, where she faithfully served for many years.

Those left to cherish her loving memory includes her son, Douglas Gene Adkins; daughter-in-law, Andrea Adkins of Hickory, NC; grandchildren, William Adkins and Noah Adkins; sister-in-law, Charlotte Adkins; brother-in-law, Danny Adkins; and a host of nieces, cousins, family, and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, July 20, 2026, at Collins Funeral Home Chapel in Switzer, WV. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Pecks Mill, WV.

A visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service at 12:00 pm.
