Emma Irene "Sis" Mounts

Emma Irene Mounts, affectionately known as "Sis," passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, warmth, and cherished memories. Sis found joy in dancing, the company of loved ones, and southern-style cooking. 

Her life was dedicated to caring for others. She lovingly supported her parents, Frank Vance and Vernie Corburn, and her siblings, Patricia Browning, Leoma Oliver, Robert, and Michael Vance, demonstrating a deep commitment to family. Sis's nurturing spirit continued as she devoted many years to caring for her late husband, Harold Mounts Sr., embodying the essence of love and partnership. 

As a proud mother, she raised her two sons, Harold Mounts Jr. and Timothy Mounts. Her love extended further when she embraced the role of grandmother, helping to raise her beloved grandchildren: Joshua, Patrice, Jacob, and Timmy Mounts, whom she took in at the age of eight. Her family was her greatest treasure. 

She lived through others, often finding joy in their experiences and adventures shared on social media. She celebrated the milestones of her loved ones with enthusiasm, always cheering them on and sharing in their happiness. Her spirit of connection and community was felt by all who knew her.

A visitation will be held from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm Monday, May 5, 2025, at Collins Funeral Home Chapel in Switzer, WV. A procession will leave to go to Highland Memory Gardens in Godby, WV at 12:30 pm. Burial will follow.
