Elizabeth Betty Meade

Elizabeth “Betty” Burgett Meade, 80, of Chapmanville formerly of Monaville, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 22, 2016 at her residence.  She was born October 11, 1935 at 22 Holden, WV to the late Richard and Hillary (Hensley) Burgett.  Betty was of the Christian Faith.  She retired after working many years as a cook for the Logan County School System.  She also worked as a cook in the Arbor of the Logan General, Logan-Mingo Mental Health and Gino’s Pizza.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Meade, two sisters; Effie and Dotty Burgett, two brothers; Landrum and Cecil Burgett and one grandson; Pete Lambert.  Those left to cherish her memories include 2 daughters; Sherrie (Dean) Jones of Old fort, NC and Debbie (Ross) Restifo of Seven Hills, OH both formerly of Chapmanville.  One son; Emmanuel (Teresa) Meade of Harts, one sister; Freda Mae (Thomas) Porter of Florida, one special niece; Darma (Shorty) Dye of Verner, one special nephew; Cecil (Stanley) Burgett pf Virginia Beach, three grandsons, Chris (Amber) Meade of Chapmanville, Adam Meade of Beckley and Herbert Sheppard of OH, four granddaughters; Cierra Restifo and Michelle Sheppard both of OH, Hollie (Justus) Smith of Beckley and a special granddaughter Angela (Jesse) Jude of Wilkinson, four great-grandchildren; Tiffany and Trey Jude of Wilkinson, Emma and Cali Meade of Chapmanville, Te’hya and Mollie Smith of Beckley, one great-great Lanie Rose Browning of Wilkinson which made five generations she was so proud of,  among a host of other  family and friends she leaves behind.  Services will be Noon Friday, January 29, 2016 at the Monahill Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Eric “Tubby” Rakes officiating.  Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.  Visitation will be from 6 to 9 PM Thursday, January 28th at the church.  Pallbearers will be family and friends.  Collins Funeral Home of Switzer will be in charge of the arrangements.  Condolences may be left @ http://www.collinsfuneralhomewv.com/
