Elizabeth Irene George
Elizabeth Irene George, 74 of Switzer, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, August 23, 2015 at her residence. She was born January 09, 1941 in Stirrat to the late Howard and Nancy (Gillum) Mitchem. She was a homemaker and a member of The New Hope Assembly of God Church in Switzer. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her grandparents, three sisters; Freda Picklesheimer, Frankie Swanner and Darlene Dingess and one brother; Donald Ray Mitchem. Survivors include her husband; Ernest “Gene” George of Switzer, two brothers; Jimmy Mitchem of Chauncey and Ronnie Mitchem of NC and two sisters; Audrey Hilbert of Chauncey and Dorothy Lewis of OH. The family would like send a special “Thank You” to her niece; Laura Jane Lowe, her brother; Jimmy Mitchem and Dignity Hospice for the great care they all gave her. Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, August 27, 2015 at Collins Funeral Home Chapel in Switzer with Pastor Shane Dennison officiating. Entombment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 P.M. Wednesday, August 26th at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Collins funeral Home of Switzer is in charge of the arrangements.
