Edna Rose Baisden

March 30, 1977 — May 6, 2025

Logan, WV

Edna Rose Baisden age 48 of Logan, WV departed this life with angels taking her to Heaven on May 6th, 2025, at Logan Regional Medical Center. Born on March 30th, 1977, to Edna White and the late James David White in Sarah Ann, WV.

She was preceded in death by her father James David White; her grandparents, Jack Jude, Inise Jude, Nancy White, Howard White; and her mother-in- law, Alma Baisden. Growing up, Edna always had a passion for school and learning, her mother said she was up and ready to go on her own. She kept her room neat and clean and always offered to help around the house. On her weekends, Edna loved to spend time at her grandparents' house. She was often called a sassy child and told she will make a good lawyer, which is something people would continue to tell her throughout life.

In her teenage years, Edna loved driving around and going to movies, while forming a lifetime obsession with styling her hair and makeup. Prior to turning 18 she got her GED and began college; pursuing a career in the medical field.

Into Edna’s young adult years, she kept the passion for higher education. Although life put it on hold when Edna became focused on starting her family, she always knew she would go back.

On Christmas 1999 at 8pm Edna’s life unfortunately changed forever, when a drunk driver hit her and her family. Edna’s back was irreparably damaged to the point she would live the rest of her life dealing with the intense pain. Over 60 surgeries, 47 of which being major surgeries, resulting in the surgeons having to ultimately remove an entire inch of her spine. She still always put her family before herself through all the pain she suffered over the years. She continued to focus on her family, and often expressed her desire to further her education.

Despite the challenges she faced, Edna showed true determination and persistence and returned to college later in life, where she graduated from SWVCTC and Lindsey Wilson College. She began her career in the medical field at Absolute Care Clinic as a Medical Administrator, where she cared dearly for her patients, and was deeply passionate about her job and helping people through it.

Edna was an extraordinarily strong woman who showed true willpower, hard work, and perseverance throughout her life. Everything she’d done was always for her family, and to improve their lives.

Although not a member of any church, Edna was baptized and saved as a child. She still believed and respected the teachings of the Bible and Jesus Christ.

Besides going to work Edna enjoyed watching tv and movies with her husband and children. She enjoyed the game Homescapes, as a top 10 player worldwide even making top 5 at times. She was a people person with an abundance of friends, and always left an impact on the lives of everyone she met. A mother to all that was around; often claiming many as her children. If you earned her love and respect, you always had it.

Above all she loved her family and spending time with them, that was the highlight of her life. If you met Edna, you heard all about her husband, children, grand babies and how proud she was of each of them. She will be missed by many family members and friends until the day we reunite in heaven. Those left to cherish her memories include her husband of 28 years, William Baisden; her 5 sons, David (Betty) Mitchem, Ty Mitchem, Dylan Baisden, Justin Baisden, and Michael “Corky” (Chelcie) Baisden; her 8 grandchildren, Braxton Mitchem, Addison Mitchem, Olivia Mitchem, Mila Baisden, Jon Baisden, David Mitchem Jr, Sadie Mitchem, and Verna Mitchem; her mother, Edna White; her father-in-law, Michael (Lois) Baisden; her 2 siblings, Trina Hurst, and David (Alma “Sis”) White; her brother and sister in laws, Michael Baisden Jr, Sharon (Mark) Richardson; very special, valuable, and trusted friend, Michele Moore; Along with a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
