Donald Ray Hagy, 86, of Stafford Branch, Gilbert WV, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ surrounded by his loving family, Monday, November 15th, 2021, at 12:17 pm at his residence. He was born May 7th, 1935, to the late Willie and Ida (Mounts) Hagy in Baisden, WV. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a stillborn brother.
He was a coal miner of forty-two years and was a member of the UMWA District 17. He married the love of his life, Ruby (Poe) Hagy, December 10th, 1955. He gave his life to the Lord in 1964 at Gilbert Church of God. He attended The Sarah Ann Church of God in Sarah Ann, WV. He enjoyed visiting local churches, especially Wharncliffe Church of God and Browning Fork House of Faith. He was a continuous witness for his Lord and Savior and believed in the power of what the Lord could do. He often witnessed to friends, family, and people he just met about the power of prayer. His constant testimony was, “Thank God for my healing.”Those left to cherish his loving memory includes his loving wife of sixty-six years, Ruby Hagy of Gilbert, WV; four children, Donna (Teddy) England of Hanover, WV, Donald Jr. (Tonya) Hagy of Horsepen, WV, Charlotte (Tracy) May of Chapmanville, WV, and Catrina (Ricky) Endicott of North Springs, WV; eight grandchildren; Drs. Carrie (Dakota) May of Durham, NC, Tiffany England of North Carolina, Gabriel (Chelsea) May of Chapmanville, WV, Natalie (Mike) Mitchem of Jacksonville, NC, Malachi (Kasie) May of Chapmanville, WV, Caleb (Bethany) Endicott of Wharncliffe, WV, Donovann Endicott of North Spring, WV, and Eli Hagy of Horsepen, WV; two great-grandchildren, Rylee May and Finley May both of Chapmanville, WV.
A funeral service will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, November 20th, 2021, at The Sarah Ann Church of God with Pastor Ricky Endicott, Pastor Gary Starr, Pastor Diamond Carter, and Pastor Noah Chafin officiating. Burial will follow in Hagy Family Cemetery in Stafford Branch, Gilbert, WV. Pallbearers will include his grandsons, Gabriel May, Malachi May, Caleb Endicott, Donovann Endicott, Eli Hagy, and Dakota May. Honorary pallbearers will include Diamond Carter, Jack Gillum, Ricky Endicott, Tracy May, Teddy England.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm Friday, November 19th, 2021, also at the church with a special church service starting at 7:00 pm.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Collins Funeral Home Inc. of Switzer, WV where his grandson, Caleb Endicott, is the L.I.C.
