David Allen Collins

David Allen Collins, 82, of Switzer went to his Heavenly home Sunday, February 6^th, 2022.

Dave was born in Chauncey, WV on June 6^th, 1939, to the late Willie (Trap) and Mae (Fleming) Collins. In addition to his parents, he was reunited with his wife and soulmate, Polly Anna Collins and his daughter, Delanna Rachele Curtiss and with his three brothers; Fred, John and Willie "Junebug" Collins Jr.

Dave was a retired coal miner who worked many years as a diesel mechanic at W&P coal company in Stirrat until he retired. He loved the Lord, and he was a faithful member of Shamrock Freewill Baptist Church where he served as superintendent. He loved his church family, as much as he loved his home family and was there everytime the doors opened. He was known in Sunday School as "The Candy Man" because he always had candy and a smile ready for the kids.

Those left to cherish Dave's memory are three brothers; Larry Midge, Chester Checko, and Ralph Collins, two sisters; Shelby Slutz, and Carolyn Sue Greene. Two sons: Davy (Adeline) and Dusty (Kathleen) Collins and daughter Nikki Collins.

Dave had 11 grandchildren that loved him dearly: Denielle Collins, Angel Mackey (Matt) , Casey Curtiss (Nikki), Samantha Wooten (Kevin), Ariel Curtiss, Taylor Wooten (Nando), Cheyenne Sellards, Devon Collins, Raistlin McFarland, Allie Sellards (Cody), ans Christian McFarland. He also had 9 great granchildren who had the honor to meet him and spend time with him: Braylen Sansom, Kennedy Curtiss, Carson Mackey, Dane Mackey, Benjamin Curtiss, Abel Shanz, Rome Bryant, Evee McClung, and Ezra McClung. He also had many neices and nephews who loved him and he loved in return.

A visitation will be held from 6-9 pm at Collins Funeral Home on Thursday, February 10, 2022. Funeral Services will be Friday, February 11, 2022, at 12:00pm with Paster Orville Ellis Jr. officiating. Entombment will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Pecks Mill, WV.
