Danny Lee Nickels

Danny Lee Nickels, 86, of Sarah Ann, WV departed this life on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at Logan Regional Medical Center in Logan, WV. He was born on February 6, 1940, in Pilgrim, KY to the late Willie Nickels and Polly (Maynard) Nickels. He was an Army Veteran. He worked for Morton Buildings and was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife of fifty-nine years, Minnie Pearl Nickels; sister, Virginia Reedy; and brothers, Lloyd, John, Paul, Jack, Terry, and Charles Nickels.

Those left to cherish his loving memory includes his daughter, Danel (Tony) Didier of Fort Wayne, IN; brothers, David (Nancy) Nickels and Chester “Chet” (Monica) Nickels both of Sarah Ann, WV; sisters, Kolleen (Jeffrey) Whyman of North Manchester, IN and Connie Nester of Sarah Ann, WV; and a very special niece, Ruby Barnette of Pine Creek, WV.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, May 1, 2026, at Collins Funeral Home Chapel in Switzer, WV. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens in Godby, WV. Pallbearers will include family and friends.

A visitation will begin one hour prior to the funeral service at 1:00 pm.
