Bobby Earl Hurst

Bobby Earl Hurst, 55, of Sarah Ann, WV, (formerly of Delbarton, WV) passed away on April 25, 2025, at CAMC Memorial surrounded by his family after a brief battle with cancer. He was born July 12, 1969, to Ronald and the late Lillian Hurst. 

Bobby was a successful Auto Body Specialist for many years in West Virginia and Georgia. He loved working on vehicles in various capacities. He was a jokester and never failed to make you laugh and smile. An avid talker, he never held back his thoughts and opinions, whether you wanted to hear them or not. Very rarely was he wrong, at least that’s what he believed. Bobby enjoyed fishing, four-wheeling, and spending time with family and friends, especially his nephews and great-nephews, who were the apples of his eyes. 

To know Bob was to love him and his memory will live on for years to come through the many friends and family members who knew and loved him. 

Along with his mother, he is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Roy and Ida Hurst. Maternal grandparents Lewis Lambert and Victoria Lambert Thomas. Special uncle, James Randall Hurst, along with a host of other uncles and aunts. Daughter, Nikko Booth. 

Those left to join his father in cherishing his memory include his sister, Lori (Gentry) Hurst. Brothers- Roy Hurst and Tommy (Christy) Hurst. Nephews- Rev. Sherman (Shatika) Jones Jr, Jason (Cassie) Jones, Ronald Hurst, Elijah Hurst, and Austin Kennedy. Nieces- Miranda Jones, Lillian (Isaiah) Mauk, and Chyanne Hurst. Uncles- Willard Hurst, LeRoy Hurst, Terry (Donna) Hurst, and Larry Hurst. Aunts- Clara (Chris) Wallace, Mary (Larry) Welch, Thelma (Elbert) Johnson, Roxie Mae Runyon, Delcie Bryant, and Evelyn (Bill) Cline; Daughter Irissa McKatlyn; a host of cousins, close friends, 7 great-nephews, 4 great-nieces; and his dog, Blue, who was his shadow. 

According to Bob’s wishes, a memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 1, at 6:30pm at West Logan Church with Reverend Sherman Jones Jr. and Reverend Scott Hurst officiating. Visitation will begin at 5:30.

A private scattering of ashes will take place with close family at a later date.
