Betty Jean Lambert

Betty Lambert , 78. of Omar passed away at Charleston General Hospital on Thursday, May 11, 2017. She was born on July 1, 1938, in Logan County to the late Rev. Walter and Gracie (Meadows) Lambert. In addition to her parents she was preceeded in death by 2 brothers Johnny and Ronnie Lambert and sibling twins; Harold and Carol Lambert, nieces Heather Grimmett and Emily Hall and one nephew Dolfard Lambert Jr.,

At the age of 13, Betty became a member of The Walnut Grove Freewill Baptist Church, establishing her future residence in Heaven and future re-unions with those who were eagerly waiting there.

Betty always had a servants heart that forever impacted many lives through her unselfish actions and her Christian service as a Sunday School and Youth league teachers. She leaves behind unforgettable memories of her in church as she played the piano and sang praises of God. She will also be remembered for the generous giving of herself by encouraging other people through her cards and letters, inviting and taking others to church and providing personal and spiritual care to the homebound and many others who greatly needed assistance. No job was to demeaning, too degrading or too trivial when she saw someone who needed help. She exemplified the words of Jesus, who said “In as much as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, you have done it unto me.” Matt.25:40. Her dedication to God was evident to everyone and her life a living example to us all.

Those who are left to cherish her memories are sisters Connie Viars and her husband Dewey and  sister Janet Lambert of Omar; brothers Dolford Lambert and his wife Linda and Brother Jerry Lambert of Omar; nieces and nephew; Karen Cornett, Walter Lee Lambert, Christopher Spurlock, Jennifer Hall, David Lambert, Tina Johnson, Cheryl Day and Jason Lambert.

Services will be conducted  Tuesday  May 16, 2017 beginning at 12:00 P.M. with the visitation on Monday May 15, 2017 from 6-9 P.M. at Collins Funeral Home. Condolences may be left at www.Collinsfuneralhomewv.com

So sorry to hear of her passing. She was my Sunday School teacher when I was a child at Chauncey, I have never forgotten how she always had the sweetest spirit, so kind - a true child of God.

Betty Perry McCarthy May 14 2017 12:00 AM

We became acquainted with Betty through our monthly ministry at the Chapmanville Towers. Admired her love for the Lord, her family and others. We missed her sweet spirit when she moved but rejoiced that she got to go home to be with family whom she spoke of often with much love. She has entered into her eternal rest.
