Bernie L. Walls I of Chapmanville, West Virginia, passed peacefully from this life on July 7, 2026, at his residence.

Born in Stollings, West Virginia, Bernie was the son of the late Bernie J. Walls and Maggie Mae Hale Walls.

Bernie served the Lord faithfully as a member of the Chapmanville Church of Christ. He also proudly served his country as a National Guard reservist. Bernie’s sense of humor was second to none. He was a master storyteller, a true jellybean connoisseur, but above all, he was a loving and devoted husband, father, and papaw.

In addition to his parents, Bernie was preceded in death by one brother, James “Jim” Walls, and one nephew, Jimmy (Deshant) Walls.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 60 years, Gloria “Totsie” Walls; one daughter, Becky (Carl) Blevins; one son, Bernie (Darla) Walls; four grandchildren, Jessica (Philip) Conley, Jennifer (Ivan) Frost, Alex (girlfriend Jess) Walls, and Allison (fiancé Logan) Walls; four great-grandchildren, Andy Conley, Braxton Grayson, and Preston Frost; one niece, Missy Walls; and one nephew, Jimmy Walls.

In accordance with Bernie’s wishes, no services will be held.
