With broken hearts and profound love, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Anita Kay Capua. She left us unexpectedly yet peacefully on July 14, 2025, surrounded by loving family.
Anita was born on May 10, 1957, to Augustino and Maxine Capua, who preceded her in death, along with her sister, Debbie Belcher. She missed them tremendously, and it gives us peace knowing they’ve been reunited.
She had a soul that danced to the songs of Patsy Cline and Loretta Lynn. She enjoyed singing and dancing, bowling, tending to her garden, crafting, and creating. But her favorite times were spent with her “babies” - all of them.
She is survived by her sister, Judy (John) Richardson, and two daughters, Tabitha (Billy) Wimmer and Sherri (John) Mays, who will carry her love forever. They know that they were the sparkle in her eye and the loves of her life because she told them and showed them every chance she could. She is also survived by grandchildren who affectionately called her “Nunny”; Austin (Makayla) Hanks, Kaylee (Josh) Delida, Hannah (Jordan) Mooney, Keili (Bobby) Howard, Haley (Justin) Preston, Ava Tue, and Zander Mays. She is also lovingly survived by numerous great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense joy and pride.Anita loved animals, and we would be remiss not to acknowledge her deep love and appreciation for their companionship. She will forever love Sweet Pea, Sally, and Jazzy.
A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, July 17, 2025, at Collins Funeral Home for family and close friends.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Collins Funeral Home, Inc. of Switzer, WV.
