On May 25th 1944 Monty E. Boytek was born at Hetzel, WV to Ernest “Nig” Boytek and Flora Mae Townsend Boytek.  From his home in Chauncey, WV he went to be with the Lord on June 12th 2017 surrounded by his family, friends, neighbors, and his loyal and very special furry friend Annie “hounddog.” Proceded in death by his parents Ernest Boytek and Flora Mae Townsend; paternal grandparents John and Kathleen Emerish Boytek; maternal grandparents Rosa and Berbin Townsend; brother Keith Boytek and daughter Debbie Harvey-Soler.  Survivors include the love of his life Sue; 4 sisters Janice (Eddie) Burgess of Virginia; Katherine (David) Reynolds of Ohio; Nina (Ron) Keefer of West Virginia; Rosemary (Tony) Ross of Texas; 5 sons Freddie (Francis) Harvey of Madison, WV; Jimmy (Karen) Harvey of North Port, FL; Tony (Pam) Boytek of Waynesville, MO; Leslie Keith (Jenna) Boytek of Kenna, WV; Jake Boytek of Chapmanville, WV; and one Daughter Susie (Bill) Copley of Chapmanville, WV. Additional survivors include his grandchildren, Shannon (Pete) Hedrick; Freddie Jay Harvey; Jimmy Harvey, Kyle Harvey; Meredith Harvey; Madison Harvey; Kristi (Matt) Jackson; Whitney (Nick) Booth; William (Katie Neil) Copley; B.J. Boytek; Christopher Boytek; Benton Boytek; Great grandchildren, Nate, Sara, and Harper Hedrick; Jacob, Reece, Peyton, Joey and Ellie Jackson; and a host of nieces, nephews, and step grandchildren. Monty was a Christian and attended Walnut Grove Freewill Baptist Church at Chauncey, WV.  He was a Master Mason member of the Aracoma Lodge #99 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason and also a member of the Eastern Star.  He also previously coached basketball at Omar and was previously a co-owner of commercial coal testing.  Monty was a retired coal preparation plant manager at Dal-Tex of Sharples, WV having worked prior at Westmoreland Coal Company and Monclo Preparation Plant also as a Coal Preparation Plant Superintendent. Monty also was an electrician for the Island Creek Coal Company. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 15th at Collins Funeral Home, Switzer, WV from 6pm-9pm with Funeral services following on Friday June 16th at Noon at Walnut Grove Freewill Baptist Church at Chauncey, WV. The services will be officiated by Pastor Charles Blankenship, Pastor Lonnie Gore, and Pastor Joe Lane.  Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens, Pecks Mill, WV with graveside Masonic Rites.  Monty’s sons and son in law Bill Copley will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are his grandsons and the following: Allen Workman Jr., David “Toby” Toney, First Sergeant John Parde-WVSP, First Sergeant Sean Wolfe-WVSP, Jim McMillen, Larry Duty, Timmy Miller, Ora Gene Castle, David Reynolds, Pastor Al Mendez, Pastor Rob Bumpus, Steve Kennedy, Terry Kennedy, Jared Kennedy and Joe Boytek. In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made to the Walnut Grove Freewill Baptist Church.  Collins Funeral Home of Switzer is in charge of the arrangements.  Condolences may be left @ www.collinsfuneralhomewv.com./
